About Me!

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! This is my third year teaching which means I am going through RESA this year. I have to film myself, which means some of my students will be sent home with release papers to be part of this aspect of my licensure.
I graduated from Southington in 2003 and went on to gain my bachelors degree in History and Regional Geography from Youngstown State University. I am currently working on my masters thesis for my masters degree in American History. This year I will be teaching seventh grade history, freshman world history. I will be in the building from 2nd period until the end of the day. I love to research and watch anything that has to deal with history, especially the Mafia. I have been married to my wife Jannell for thirteen years and we have a five year old daughter Janessa and a two year old daughter, Kendall. Outside of school I coach the girls basketball team and the baseball team. I also love spending time with my family. I love to play basketball, softball, golf, and I love to cycle. I am an avid Duke Basketball fan, a San Fransisco 49ers fan, and a Cleveland Indians fan.
I will try to be as punctual as I can with uploading notes and assignments to this website. Please feel free to call the school and talk to me about any questions or concerns you have with the education of your child in my history classes. I hope that your student enjoys learning about connections in history during this school year!

History Journal Information

This year your student will be keeping a history journal in my class. I have found that many students do not want to share thoughts or opinions for many different reasons. This journal gives them a chance to write down opinions that can be backed up by facts on many of the subjects that we study or are current events in our world. At the beginning of the school year, your student should have showed you a one page letter and a rubric that explains the history journal. This journal will be graded weekly based on the rubric that has been provided. If you have not seen this piece of paper, there is a link below that will take you to a copy of it.
