New School

In February 2007, voters passed a bond to build a new K-12 facility. The new $21.5 million facility will house approximately 685 students and is being constructed with the assistance of the Ohio Schools Facilities Commission. The new building will offer students much-needed improvements in the areas of technology and science, as well as a better, safer learning environment.


The Southington Local School District Board of Education approved contracts for construction of the new K-12 building on Monday, August 3, 2009 with the following contractors:

General Trades - Foti Contracting, LLC of Wickliffe, Ohio
Furniture & Equipment - Continental Office Furniture of Columbus, Ohio
Fire Protection Systems - Fire Foe Corporation of Girard, Ohio
HVAC - Soehnlen Piping Company of Louisville, Ohio
Electrical & Technology - Valley Electrical of Girard, Ohio
Waste Water Treatment - Miller-Yount Paving of Cortland, Ohio

The Board awarded the plumbing bid on August 27, 2009 to The Conti Corporation of Lowellville, Ohio.

A total of 97 sets of Bid Documents were distributed to interested bidders with a total of 47 individual bids received, including 6 combination bids.
