Message from the Principal

Wildcats!
Mr. Robert Kujala, Principal

Families and friends of the Southington Wildcat Community:

The situation with COVID- 19 virus has most definitely changed all of our lives. We understand our closure is difficult for many with child care concerns. The district is currently putting together plans on how to send out work electronically (Google classroom) and paper based at this time. If your child is in grade 6 and up there is a good chance they have work on Google classroom and get started working right now. Paper packets will be available at a later date. Mr. Nero will make an All Call to give you further details.

The 3rd nine weeks will end a week early. I have asked the teachers to exempt students from any outstanding current assignments that were assigned but not turned in (this means the assignment will not count against the student). However, if there is missing work from February or January and that worked is not turned in, the grade will be counted as missing which is a “0”.  Please check the parent access to check your child’s grades. If you cannot see your child’s grade, email me at robert.kujala@southingtonlocal.org and I will send you a copy of their most recent progress so you can see where they stand.  If you have questions about a certain assignments email the specific teacher.

Monitor the district Twitter for news and changes as well as the district web page

This situation will continue to evolve and we will change our plans as the situation dictates. The most important thing is that you and your family stay healthy and safe.

Sincerely

Robert Kujala
